The TCMA Guitar Orchestra invites guitar players of all levels to join as they begin their fourth year of rehearsals and performances. If you play a guitar, bass guitar, mandolin or other plucked string acoustic instrument, and are seeking a group of fun-loving, adventurous fellow players to grow with musically, now is the time to join.
The guitar orchestra is a community ensemble led by Dan Lorenz. Dan is a music educator at Timberlane Regional Middle and High Schools. Since 2019, he teaches music classes for students in 6th-12th grade and directs the TRHS Guitar Orchestra. A graduate from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor's degree in Music Education, Dan continues to study jazz, classical, and contemporary styles while regularly performing in solo and ensemble settings. He has been fortunate to work and perform with ensembles for programs including Boston University Tanglewood Institute, UNH SYMS, and the Virtual Guitar Orchestra. Dan draws inspiration from his past teachers including David Newsam and Mike Annicchiarico, as well as from musicians including Kurt Rosenwinkel, Stefanie Jones, Miho Hazama, Tariq Harb, and many more.
Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Timberlane High School Performing Arts Center in Plaistow, NH. Contact the director of your group to find out which Thursdays your group rehearses on.
The group performs at select local venues and at the annual Timberlane Guitar Festival. There may also be recording opportunities.
